Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. PDFroo processes your files inside your own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, so your documents never leave your device and there is nothing for us to store or delete.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

This tool adds new content on top of the page. To “change” existing text, cover it with a white-out box and type the new text over it.

Does white-out permanently remove information?

White-out covers content visually, but the original text may still exist underneath. For sensitive redaction, use Flatten PDF with the “Everything as image” option after editing.

Which characters are supported?

This version supports Latin characters (English and most European languages) using a standard PDF font.
